Panasonic always keeps us in suspense by releasing fewer notebook platforms than any other major maker. But usually, when they do it's a great one; the new Panasonic T4 is a typical example.

The Panasonic T4 weighs only 3.3 pounds. Its 12" XGA TFT offers substantially more viewing area than any other computer in this class. (In fact, 12" TFTs are more typical on 3-4 pound notebooks). And, although the chassis measures only 10.55 x 8.27 x 1.03-1.53 inches, the keys have a remarkable 19mm keypitch. The Panasonic T4 is designed for road warriors. The 40gb HDD is shock-mounted, to reduce the risk of physical data loss. The battery yields 9 hours, 39 minutes per charge. Connectivity is easy, thanks to the Centrino's integrated Wi-fi (802.11 A+B+G), RJ-45 LAN, modem, and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. There's also an SD-slot, convenient for users who have an SD-equipped MP3 player, camera, or PDA.
