The touchscreen unit runs Genuine Windows 7® Profeccional (with XP downgrade option) and functions as a fully rugged compact PC, allowing the user to interface with applications via a stylus or a finger. The electromagnetic dual touch version leverages Windows 7® Tablet PC functions. The magnetic plate behind the screen interfaces with a stylus only and allows for functionality such as hand-writing recognition, draft design, and signature capture. Both versions boast a daylight-readable 10.4" LCD swivel display, which can rotate in virtually any direction, converting from vertical to horizontal format in order to retain optimal visibility and ease of use.

A blend of in-the-field flexibility and proven durability, Toughbook® 19 transforms easily from a laptop to a handwriting-friendly tablet PC. The Panasonic 19 features the Windows 7® Professional operating system (also available with Windows XP Downgrade), Intel® Core™ i5 vPro™ processor and optional integrated Gobi™ 3G Global Mobile Internet.
