The Toughbook 19 is available in two distinct versions. The touchscreen unit runs Genuine Windows Vista® Business (with XP downgrade option) and functions as a fully rugged compact PC, allowing the user to interface with applications via a stylus or a finger. The electromagnetic digitizer version leverages Windows Vista® Tablet PC Edition. The magnetic plate behind the screen interfaces with a stylus only and allows for functionality such as hand-writing recognition, draft design, and signature capture. Both versions boast a daylight-readable 10.4" LCD swivel display, which can rotate in virtually any direction, converting from vertical to horizontal format in order to retain optimal visibility and ease of use.

A blend of in-the-field flexibility and proven durability, Toughbook® 19 transforms easily from a laptop to a handwriting-friendly tablet PC. The Panasonic 19 features the Windows Vista® operating system (also available with Windows XP), Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor and optional integrated Gobi™ 3G Global Mobile Internet. In addition, a full magnesium alloy case, sealed all-weather IP54 design and extensive MIL-STD testing help ensure that Toughbook 19 will stand up to the most rigorous environments.

An Anti-Reflection (AR) finish has been applied to reduce LCD monitor reflections and improve view-ability both outdoors and in the office. The LCD of the CF-19 is a touch screen with a circular polarizer that reduces reflections. Outdoors, you get surer confirmation from the screen.
